Judgment Lien
A lien can change a general court judgment against a debtor into a specific claim against any property of the debtor subject to the judgment lien for a period of five (5) years. When a debtor engages in business negotiations, your lien can pose an obstacle. Typically, your lien demands full payment before any final transactions can be made.
This service goes well with our “Add Interest to My Case" to ensure you are paid all that is rightfully due to you. All judgment liens are filed with the State of California only. To demonstrate your commitment to collecting your judgment, you may also send a notice of this action to the debtor(s) at no cost.

Benefits:

To improve your chances of collection, Uniresolve will file a lien with the State of California, providing public notice that the debtor has not paid the judgment. A lien can limit a debtor's credit transactions until your judgment is completely paid off and can also secure your right to a claim in case the debtor files bankruptcy. Many judgments are resolved using a lien.

How has it been used?

“At the time of my judgment, I knew that my debtor did not own a home. However, I did know that one day he might. I ordered a Judgment Lien through UniResolve. Although it took a moment, one day I received a telephone call from an escrow company to pay the judgment. I had also subscribed to UniResolve’s “Add Interest To My Case” service, so by the time I received payment from the escrow company I was able to collect my full judgment as well as the interest too. Needless to say, I was very happy to have collected my judgment with the interest too.”

“I sued my ex-employer for unpaid overtime. I won the judgment but my ex-employer would still not pay me. I filed a judgment lien against the owner of my ex-employer who owned a home. I later received a telephone call from my ex-employer to pay off the judgment because she was trying to refinance her home and could not do it without paying me first. The judgment lien worked excellent for me.”
